Program Committees

Program committees provide guidance, input and expertise to leadership and program staff, fellow environmental health professionals and partner organizations on environmental health policies and programs. They help us:

  • Better understand what is happening in the field and on the ground
  • Complete projects identified by the committee
  • Write and revise policy statements and position papers
  • Identify and recommend quality resources for the workforce
  • Host webinars to provide topic or program updates

Each committee has its own mission, guidelines, and process to join. No committees are currently accepting applications.

Applications to join committees may be open yearly or on a rolling basis. Committee members must be NEHA members in good standing. The estimated time commitment may vary depending on any specific work within the committee. Committee calls are at least one per month, lasting about an hour with additional work in between meetings, or work on sub-committees as appropriate. Volunteers are expected to commit for two years.
